Rode a Miyata 610 (circa mid-80s) until a jeep wrecked both me and it. |

Great panniers. My only real gripe with them was that when you overtighten the compression straps, the back plate tends to curve, making them harder to mount to your bike. This never stopped me from getting them on, nor did they ever even begin to fall off (very secure), but it was a slight hassle. |

I have several bikes, and ride them as often as possible on every type of terrain. Road/Mountain/Touring/Cyclocross, etc. |

My panniers are XM45, Arkel makes them now instead of the XM40. They are 45 liters of volume.
I expect they will hold up a long time. Also the contents are easy to stabalize with the straps, a nice feature when biking on bumpy roads. |
