Haven't used them a lot so far, but they are the most fun panniers I ever owned. SIMPLE yet incredibly rock solid. Plus they look gorgeous (got them in bright red...). The hook system is unimpressive to look at but is buttery smooth and, Id say, unbreakable. A superb buy in my book.

Arkel T-42's fit the BikeE under-seat rack, offering largest available cargo capacity. E.g. I can load 2 gallons milk, plus lots more groceries in *each* pannier. Superb construction, no problems with water intrusion even here in Oregon. Good price. Great service from Arkel company. Love these panniers!

Watercovers double as covers for a large pizza box strapped to the top of the two panniers. Mounts eat the paint on the rack use some electrical (maybe duct) tape at the mount points and its all good. Greatly reduced my parking time at the station and easy to carry long distances with one shoulder strap each (do not know how you could carry two very far with only one)

Mounting system is poorly designed. Knots in bungy-type bottom attachment cords (another bad choice) interfere with rack struts (Blackburn rear rack and their front rack). Top hooks are too shallow to fit solidly over rack. Locking mechanism hits rack if not positioned correctly. Its a wrestling match every time they are mounted. Zippers very stiff at corners. Good materials (other than bungy cord attachments), and wormanship, excellent raincovers. Liked my old Eclipse better.

Scratches up your rack but never comes off. Really liked how adjustable the hooks and locks are...fits just about any rack. One month of cycle touring in Ireland...no problems
