Days 2 - 4

The next few days were better.  Day 2 was great, and much needed after the mental beating I took the day before. Day 3 was HOT HOT HOT!  Day 4 which was a much need day off.

I spent the day off doing laundry, tuning the bike, shopping and eatting. For lunch I had a large pizza (yum!).

Day 2, Tuesday 6/16/98.  Day 2's weather was gorgeous.  Here I look pretty hagard after a cold night and morning.  I was pooped, but felt great.  Notice socks on flag.

Day 2, Tuesday 6/16/98.  The weather and riding with Brooke, gave me lots of time to relax and take photos.  This is looking northward.

Day 3, Wednesday 6/17/98.  The road to Pit 3.  It was hot and straight, with a head wind blowing slightly to the right (notice flag).

Day 3, Wednesday 6/17/98.  After the seemingly 1000 miles to pit 3, there was the kiddy pool offering a reprieve from hot feet.

Day 3, Wednesday 6/17/98.  Here is the Big Star Van that provided the e-mail and cellular phones for the riders. image by GTE

Day 4 (off), Thursday 6/18.98.  Me and Brooke at camp after a day of running errands.
